We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Make for profit schools have a closure plan in place and hold them accountable.

Created by C.B. on November 29, 2016

We attended a for profit school for almost 2 years and was 2 semesters away from graduating when we received and email stating that the school was closing. There was no warning, no plan in place so that we could get a chance to finish the program. The school tried to get us connected with other schools but none of the schools will accept the credits that we earned at the closed school which means that the last 2 years doesn't count for anything, we are forced to start over while the school files bankruptcy and moves on. These schools should be forced to have a plan in place before receiving federal funds to protect the interest of the students and tax payers because it is more beneficial for students to graduate so that they will be able to pay back loans instead of discharging them.
