We respectfully submit this petition for consideration to make it a federal crime to create, promote, distribute, benefit or profit from an electronic recording of minors engaging in acts of violence against another minor or in any illegal activity in the presence and / or direction of an adult. Such recordings serve no benefit to our society, providing morally deficient entertainment, as well as engaging and indoctrinating minors into a depraved indifference to human life. The recent killing of a sixteen-year-old female high school student in Wilmington, Delaware serves as a testament to why such a law is needed, as some of her peers reportedly recorded the violence instead of getting help, a trend that some web sites use such recordings as content to increase their traffic and revenue.
