Make public the meetings and deliberations of the AMA committee (known as RUC) that determines all physician pricing.

Created by D.M. on January 19, 2014

Since the Wall Street Journal article in 2010 ( http://hc4.us/WSJonRUC), we have known that a committee controlled by the American Medical Association (known as RVUC - Relative Value Update Committe - or just RUC) makes pricing recommendations on physician compensation that represents the largest single pricing influence on all of U.S. healthcare.

This committee - the RUC - meets privately 3 times every year and the results of the meeting are never made public. In fact, membership in this committee (about 26 total) is by invitation only under terms of strict non-disclosure.

In the spirit of healthcare pricing transparency, we petition this Administration to make public all of the meetings and deliberations of the RUC. We believe this could be an Executive order with no judicial review.
