The University of Alabama's Greek system has had a colored history of violence, racism, and classicism including counts of fire bombings, election rigging, gross misuse of funds, and overt racial discrimination.
Backed by faculty, administrators, and wealthy benefactors, the Greek system has no incentives to reform itself; and the University itself has turned a blind eye to the matter despite increasingly violent cases of hazing surfacing each year. The University of Alabama must take responsibility of what happens on its campus, through its organizations, and for the safety of its students.
