Make public the text of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) at least 14 days before signing.

Created by D.M. on May 12, 2015

The Trans-Pacific Partnership is a major policy initiative of the Obama Administration's second term. Congress is currently debating giving "fast-track" authorization for trade deals, allowing the TPP to be signed into law without congressional debates. It is not in the interest of open and transparent governance to have even the text of the Trans-Pacific Partnership kept secret from the American public.

The deal does not fall within the category of national security to justify such secrecy. We the petitioners call upon the President to hold true his word that his Administration will operate openly and transparently by making the trade deal text open to the public no later than 14 days before signing.
