The yearly cost of going to public universities and colleges is getting too expensive. The average student loan is almost $30.000 and the average parent loan is around $14,000. This is causing high school graduates to reconsider going to college and not getting a higher education. To add on the Federal Interest rate should be lowered from what it is now, at 6.8 percent. To add on stop having the government profiting from student loans.
With less American college graduates, the United States of America will have a less competitive edge when compared to other foreign countries in the long run. Therefore, cheaper colleges may cost more in the short run, but would lead to future economic growth in the long run, and keep America on top.
