Higher education throughout Europe is little to no cost for European citizens. They are able to receive a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD without signing away their soul on a loan that they will never be able to pay off. People are committing suicide because their loans are becoming delinquent. That is absurd. The total debt owed in was over $1 trillion in 2012, and making public universities tuition-free would cost the Federal government less than $69 billion. America needs to catch up with the rest of the international community.
