Make the crime and punishment of Child Abuse and Neglect. especially by parents, at least equal in stature to the punishment invoked by Animal Abuse and Neglect. The current punishments for Child Abuse and Neglect are not severe enough, especially when the abuse is committed by the child's own parent(s), who are supposed to love and protect the child from harm. The punishment for Animal Abuse and Neglect is far more severe than that of a Child.
