With Congressional approval at an all time low, many Americans are feeling hopeless and despondent about our government actually getting anything done to benefit this country and create jobs. Part of the problem is that we have career congressmen who in some cases, have spent over 30 years in the Senate or House.
When it is considered that we have a two party system, this severely limits our choices in who to vote for, leading to congressional reelection despite widespread unhappiness in their congressman. Term limits would help spur innovation, and curb career politicians. It would also more accurately reflect the values of the nation, as more diverse groups of people will be elected. I encourage President Obama to at least consider this as a solution to help fix our troubled gov.
