A quality list of nominees for our national Emmy awards is key to the sustainability of our trust in the entertainment industry. The Republican debates have surpassed any comedy series the television industry has seen in decades. It even has more episodes than most comedy series.
While this form of entertainment is not a typical nominee for Outstanding Comedy Series, we as a people must band together to keep the Emmys pure and recognize true comedy when we see it.
I implore the Obama administration to intervene wherever possible to make sure the Republican debates are eligible for the Outstanding Comedy Series category in the upcoming Emmy Awards.
