make rubber-necking on federally-funded roads or roads traveled by Social Security recipients a federal felony

Created by G.K. on February 08, 2013

Rubber-necking is not only ghoulish, it harms the environment, economy, infrastructure, coastal communities, national health, entitlements, national security, and the civility that marks American exceptionalism. Slowing down in the hopes of seeing -- in addition to mangled metal --bloodied heads, severed appendages, dazed octagenarians and/or dead babies causes traffic jams, often Phish-esque jams resulting in: wasted fuel, higher gas prices, less discretionary consumer spending, air pollution, increased respiratory diseases, increased medical costs and strains on Medicare/Medicaid, global warming, higher ocean levels, difficulty meeting fleet MPG requirements and lighter, more dangerous vehicles, more energy dependence on countries unfriendly to us, more road rage and trips to hospital ERs
