Have every crosswalk around a public school be a flashing crosswalk system. It's pretty simple. Safety for our children around public schools should be a top priority. Some of the crosswalks around my child's school are not near a stop sign or are hidden between parked cars. I am sure this is the case at other schools around the country. Drivers should, but do not always pay attention while driving around schools. I have seen cars drive through a crosswalk while kids are trying to cross. And this crosswalk has a sign in the middle of the street to let drivers know its the law to stop. A flashing crosswalk system would help protect our children. It is that simple.
