Members of Congress earn over $100,000 a year. With a few exceptions, our members of Congress have careers that pay them far more than the average American even without these salaries.
I strongly feel that Congressional members need to be paid according to their performance. If they act in a non-partisan manner then they will be paid. If they attend sessions and vote as they have promised in their election campaigns then they are paid.
Serving as a member of our government should be a privilege and as such it should be a position where the salary is contingent on your performance.
