Make school curriculum more focused on critical events students will face instead of subjects most will never use again.

Created by N.C. on January 26, 2014

Children every day are forced to go to school and learn about math, English, science and history. Every year, they learn the same thing, just a little more advanced. Now unless a child is going to be going into the field of mathematics, science or history then it is useless knowledge most children waive off anyways. Children in public (and private) schools should have classes on self defense, human rights, current world news, what we should do in case of a state emergency, rape, abuse, women's rights, immigration, rights of African Americans, Hispanics, etc. Rights of all those who fought for those rights, how to apply for college, how to apply and keep a job. Students should not have to learn the same subject over and over again when most will never use y=mx+b once they graduate.
