We often get a two hour delay at school if there is snow on the ground, to allow time for roads to warm up and reduce traffic before we get to school. However, the past couple of times I have been to school on a two hour delay, there has been snow on all the sidewalks. After everyone walks on it, the snow turns to ice, and the sidewalks become very slippery. This is really dangerous, especially in a school setting, because students are walking quickly to get to class and are put at risk of falling. It would be much safer for students and teachers if these walkways were cleared. It could also create jobs, because there would need to be someone able to clear the walkways at every school in the morning. It would also result in fewer fall related law suits against school systems.
