Make scientific literacy a primary measure of academic achievement for publicly funded schools.

Created by K.D. on December 16, 2012

1. A great majority of the world's problems can be remedied with better and more widespread education-- and more specifically, education that encourages critical thinking, spotting the flaws in arguments, solving problems creatively, and changing one's mind in light of better explanations.

2. Scientific education is uniquely important because knowledge is empowering, and humankind has no better engine for knowledge creation than the scientific method.

3. Scientists should not be the only citizens who can self-empower their thinking in this way.

4. Taken as a broad category, scientifically derived knowledge is the only kind that can be improved and increased indefinitely, and so teaching kids science is of universal importance.
