"Separation of Church and State" was a phrase used by Thomas Jefferson and outlined in the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. It says that government should not be involved in religion, and, more importantly, religion should not be involved in government.
"Under G-d" is in the Pledge of Allegiance.
"In G-d we trust" is written on currency.
Gay marriage is still illegal in many places.
Many Christian holidays (Christmas, Easter) are national holidays and some school systems schedule around them.
These all have to do with religion. Some say that gay marriage is illegal because "G-d defined marriage as one man and one woman."
Separation of Church and State means to not favor one religion over another. All of the above listed favor Christianity.
We must fix this.
