The main purpose of making this a federal holiday, is to respect the lives lost on this tragic day, 9/11/01, and to give more knowledge to United States of America about this horrible incident. It makes no sense that our country depicts a day where a man coming down a chimney, Christmas, as a federal holiday. However, we can't be inclined to making a tragedy in the past a federal holiday. It has also come to my attention that we have a day celebrating a women abuser, a rapist, molester, and murderer, Christopher Colombus on Colombus day, but we can't make 9/11 a federal holiday
