Make Sign Language a part of the mandatory curriculum in high schools in order to obtain a diploma.

Created by T.L. on November 20, 2013

In many high schools nationwide it is part of the curriculum to take a language class, most popularly Spanish or French. By making offering Sign Language, students have to option to learn a different communication system that allows them to connect and communicate with those of our country before learning to communicate with those from others, as Spanish and French offer. Because it is mandatory to take a language in most high schools, Sign Language would offer students the chance to further their communication skills with citizens of their own country, possibly even people they are close to. I feel that it is important for us to have the option of being able to communicate amongst ourselves before those of foreign countries.
