Animals are killed by shelters as well as PETA itself (Huffington Post, 2013) instead of finding them proper homes. Chickens and turkeys aren't covered under the one law protecting animals in slaughter houses. We need to control the conditions set in farms and slaughterhouses and the mistreatment of our domestic animals. Humans are animals too, and we would never treat another human the way people treat these animals.
