Creative Design Solutions, Inc. has developed the "Smart Belt" which limits the speed of a motor vehicle in which 100% seatbelt usage by its driver and passenger(s) is not achieved. By unifying currently installed safety components into a new and novel device, the "Smart Belt" system uses sensors that can initiate a top-speed limit setting of, or about, 10 mph when seat belt usage is not detected in all occupied seats.
If 100% usage were mandated, an additional 4,590 lives and untold costs could be saved every year.
Just like the LATCH system and third brake light, this life saving product deserves to be mandated.
