Make Smart TV Manufacturers refund customers for disabling YouTube

Created by N.K. on September 07, 2015

Top manufacturers Sony,Samsung,LG,Google & Apple have been selling new "Smart" TVs, Blu-ray players or streaming devices (Apple TV) with support for internet connected services like Netflix, Hulu and Youtube. They've been marketing such features in their advertisements, promotions and product packaging. Many customers have upgraded their current devices and bought new devices specifically for these new features.

Lately there has been a trend where after only a few years or months of purchase of these new devices, many of the services advertised like YouTube and Netflix stop working. The manufacturers claim that third parties like Netflix and Youtube are responsible for not supporting APIs for older devices. Netflix and Youtube claim manufacturers are to blame. Customers have no recourse.
