When the snow gathers in large amounts on public sidewalks, navigation becomes hard if not impossible at times. People who travel by foot deserve as much respect as those by vehicle. Schools create closings when children have to use the streets. For the people unable to shovel their own walks, the city should implement a volunteer program or community service for those in need. Those asking for assistance would have to provide proof of need. It is just common respect to allow adequate traveling space for those who navigate the sidewalk as their road, in any type of weather or season.
