Investment in space exploration is essential to innovation. History has shown time and again that federal investment in science endeavors produces dramatic advancement and benefit to society. The vast majority of those benefits could not be anticipated before the endeavor began. Much of the technology we enjoy today is the indirect result of government investment in space exploration in the mid-20th century. Governments have monetary resources beyond those of private entities, and so can spur innovation through funding without a concern for profit. Additionally, space exploration is good for the soul, and is the current frontier in humanity's drive to expand and to understand the universe in which we live. Let's use our tax dollars to fund something that makes our lives better!
