The SS United States is in trouble. If a solution is not found by November the owners of the ship the SS United States Conservancy may be forced to sell her for scrap! Please take steps to save this national treasure by making her a National Monument or at least instruct the Navy to offer assistance move her to a Naval or private facility where she can wait out her restoration without huge burden on her non-profit owners. This ship still holds the Blue Riband for the fastest speed across the Atlantic. An award she took from HMS Queen Mary. She is (still) a shining example of post-war American muscle and know how. We implore you Mr. President to take a look. With little cost to the taxpayer, you could save her for future generations.
