High school teenagers usually run very busy lives, and the early wake up call to school only hurts them. Sleep is essential to one's well being, and on average only about 15% of teens or less get 8 hours of sleep on a school night. Most teens in high school play sports, join various clubs, and even have a part time job. Without a good night's sleep grades can drop, teens feel drowsy for most of the day, it can affect their ability to learn, their mood and actions, among other things. Early high school start times should be pushed later in order to give our hardworking teens more time to rest, thus improving their focus, health, and performance in all activities.
