We would like the Obama administration to make a statement against bullying and to support the efforts of parents, teachers, and communities to find and stop bullying before it results in a tragedy like Michael Morones' story, he is an 11 year old boy. A shortened copy of the family statement is included.
"On Thursday evening January 23 Michael Morones attempted to take his own life by hanging himself with a neck tie. His Mother found him hanging, unresponsive and blue in color at 8:36 pm.
Michael has suffered permanent brain damage and there was damage to the heart and lungs as well.
His teachers and counselors were not aware of any bullying but the parents have had conversations with Michael in the past where he talked about being bullied and called gay for being a Brony."
