We the people ask the federal government to Take or explain a position on an issue or policy:

Make a statement on Taiylar Ball being banned from prom for performing a black empowerment spoken word peice.

Created by S.F. on May 23, 2016

Address the issue of Taiylar Ball performance, which the end result was her being barred entrance to prom and possible denial of walking accross the stage for graduation. Taiylar is an honors student who was accepted to 11 universities and received over a million in scholarship monies. She was featured on MTV for her spoken word peice about black empowerment, not unlike what was performed at the talent show. The peice was submitted half finished to her English Advisor. The advisor did not get around to signing off on the final peice, yet still asked to perform the peice. There were no rules in the handbook addressing the issue or consequences. The language in question was the use of the words "nigga" and "tits". Those words can be found in school literature and in the school play.
