Make Super Bowl Sunday a federal holiday that is recognized on the following Monday

Created by M.E. on November 13, 2012

Forget Thanksgiving or New Year's Day. Super Bowl Sunday has replaced them all as America's #1 holiday. It has become so big that the federal government needs to consider giving the game its own three day weekend.

As the most watched annual television program in the United States, several Americans refer to it as a holiday due to the way it causes families and friends to gather and celebrate together. Many Americans who are not typically football fans will still gather and watch the game and/or the commercials. Super Bowl Sunday has the ability to unite Americans of different races, religions, and economic classes. It is time we make the the 2nd largest day of food consumption in the United States, after Thanksgiving, a national holiday.
