Suppressors, SBS's, and SBR's are currently classified as Class 3 Firearms because of the misconception on how it makes a firearm more "dangerous." Suppressors don't silence a firearm but rather make it a little less quiet, it's not like what many people see in hollywood were a bad guy is shot and his buddy 15 feet from him doesn't hear anything. Suppressors on common pistol cartridges lower the sound down to a human scream. SBR's and SBS'a are pointless to regulate just because the shorter the barrel the less velocity you have and it trades off accuracy, muzzle energy,and lack of recoil for a rifle or shotgun to be a few inches shorter.
