A number of Senators sent a letter to Iran warning it that they feel no obligation to honor any agreement that it comes to with the current administration. According to the law, any agreement that the president comes to with Iran has to go through Congress in order to be ratified. By bypassing Congress, the agreement only can remain in effect while Obama is still president and after that it will be null and void. Therefore, the Senators were 100% within their bounds to warn Iran that they will not honor the agreement if they are elected in the next election.
