We the undersigned do hereby petition President Barack Obama to use his executive power to name System of a Down, the California-based nu-metal artist, Poet Laureate of the United States of America.
System of a Down (henceforth referred to as SOAD) is a national treasure in every sense of the words. Known for his lucid prose and thoughtful political commentary, SOAD's words have been as critical to shaping the collective unconscious of America's rising generation as they have to the shaping of nu-metal as a genre.
