The current tax code is heavily against educated middle class citizens like doctors, engineers who pay > 26% in effective federal taxes + 8% in SSN/Medicare + 10% State income taxes effectively paying half their hard earned money in income taxes.
Make tax code simple and fair by taxing everyone same % of income instead of progressive code - it negatively impacts salaried middle class. Remove marriage penalty.
Make budget leaner by removing all subsidies for all corporations and agriculture (corn, sugar especially) and reducing welfare/SNAP programs only for sick, young and old. Make all others work or do community service in lieu of benefits.
Reduce healthcare spending by providing free annual checkups (not just preventive care) to all and remove Insurance to save > 20% admin overhead
