We've all been there.
You've got your $8 Twizzle Snaps and a couple gallons of Cokola. You've seen the same tube yogurt ad nineteen times, and now it's finally time for the REAL commercials.
I'm talking, of course, about trailers.
Now, used to be that a trailer would EXCITE and ENTICE you to see a movie. You'd get a quick 30 seconds of a character, some hint at their motivation, and maybe a reaction shot of them in the midst of struggle.
How I long for those halcyon days.
Now we're forced to sit through 15 minutes of some gravel-throated shmuck explaining the intricacies of teenage turtle political intrigue -- and by the time it's over, I've seen the whole gawdarned movie!!!!!
Now this is straight up counterproductive for a number of reasons:
