We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Make Tuesday, November 8, 2016 a Federal Holiday to give all eligible American Citizens the ability to vote.

Created by E.S. on September 26, 2016

As more and more States enact harsh and unconstitutional Voter ID laws, it is becoming harder and harder for those disenfranchised by those laws to vote. These laws disproportionately affect the poor, the elderly, the working class, and many people of color. Faced with long lines, incorrect and misleading information, and even intimidation, many of those who wish to vote cannot.

We The People petition the Administration to issue an executive order stating:

1) Tuesday, November 8, 2016 is a Federal Holiday
2) Encourage the Administration and/or Congress to make all future official Election Days into Federal Holidays, in order to encourage all eligible Citizens to vote.
3) No person missing time from work in order to vote shall be penalized.
