When the United States of America's government was first created information moved slowly. A DIRECT DEMOCRACY in those times would of been very inefficient and and slow due to the fact that information was sent by way of horse. Today on the other hand information is sent almost instantaneously via the internet. It would be of no effort to email any proposed bill to every US citizen and for them to personally reply yes or no. Some people may not have access to the internet, but everyday with each ticking second internet access becomes more available and cheaper. Also libraries provide it for free. I think a true democracy in the USA is a little past due. The Greek city-state of Athens made it work in 550 BC. I think it'll work in 2013 AD
