Make unpaid internships (including internships for academic credit) illegal.

Unpaid internships are clearly unconstitutional. Free labor, even labor for academic credit, is a clear violation of human rights.

It is estimated that over 1.5 million people are currently working for no wage in the United States. The allure of experience is not a viable wage––paying jobs offer the same experience but also provide the security of food and shelter.

Providing money to interns is not only an issue of human rights, but it can also help stimulate the economy in a trickle-down fashion.
