Make the upcoming asteroid mission a true "Plymouth Rock Mission"!

Created by J.H. on October 17, 2014

The Plymouth Rock monument is considered to be the traditional site where the Mayflower Pilgrims disembarked into America in 1620, after which it became an important symbol in American history.

In the 2020s, NASA will be conducting a manned mission to a captured asteroid, known as the Plymouth Rock Mission. In order to make this mission as prolific as Apollo 11, we petition to have the captured asteroid be named "Plymouth Rock", the spacecraft visiting it be called the "Mayflower", and the crew to be "Pilgrimnauts" for this mission only. In addition, a plaque made from the original monument will be mounted on the asteroid to symbolize both America's expansion into space as well as all humanity.
