Current energy policies do not take into consideration the true cost of relying on foreign oil. We are constantly flooding radical nations with oil money that is then used against us in war, political upheaval, and a drain to our economy. It is time for us to use our own natural energy resources in safe and environmentally conscious ways to provide abundant, low cost energy. We need to invest in making our country energy efficient by replacing inefficient vehicles, appliances and insulating homes and businesses. New energy technologies are on the horizon, bringing promise of abundant, low cost energy that, as with our space program, can be brought into mainstream use with a national commitment. The President is petitioned to bring about this new energy policy through his leadership.
