The United States is the world's leading producer of fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions, and yet we do nothing about it. For this reason, the Obama Administration needs to begin slowly cutting the use of fossil fuels so that in years to come, we will be completely dependent on renewable resources. It is a process that will undoubtedly be hard, but it can be accomplished. If we have any hopes of buffering the impending effects of climate change or stopping Shell from drilling in the Arctic in 2015, we have got to start now.
