Make The US Open Final a National Holiday

Created by J.H. on February 26, 2014

The US Open Tennis Championship is the one of the greatest sporting events in our country. Tennis has been an incredibly successful and celebrated sport in our country for over a century, and the US Open is the culmination of professional tennis in America. Anybody can pick up a racquet, find a local public court or wall, and fall in love with the sport. Often times rain in New York City causes the final to be moved to a monday, which means many miss out on the incredible tennis. The US Open final should be a national holiday because families and friends can get together to and watch tennis being played on the largest stage in tennis; Arthur Ashe Stadium. Finally, making this a national holiday would grow the sport in our country exponentially.
