Disabled veterans wait too long for their claims to be resolved within the VA and DoD systems. The average wait is over 250 days and in some urban centers it is more than a year and six months.
The head of the VA has said he would like to get the backlog cleared up by the end of 2014. In the meantime the department has written off $500 million spent on a computer system that didn't work.
Mr. President , please make the VA provide timely service to our men and women who have served our country and make the VA accountable the taxpayers who foot the bill for the VA.
