Make Veterans Day and Election Day one.

Created by N.B. on March 03, 2013

I propose Veterans Day be moved to the second Tuesday of November; reason being, what greater way to honor those who’ve fought to defend the rights of American citizens than to exercise these protected rights and vote on the same day. This change will allow greater participation on Election Day by those with stringent work schedules, as well as those attending educational institutes full time. Many do not have the opportunity to celebrate Veterans Day and feel at a loss by not being able to put time aside to honor our vets. By merging both these momentous events, we will be able to have a full day off to vote, as will as be able to honor and celebrate our veterans who have defended this right, as well as the many other liberties we inherently take for granted.
