More than 62% of the U.S. veteran population is under the age of 64, which means most veterans work for a living after separating from the military.
What better way to honor those who have fought for our nation than to give them a paid day off to relax? Veterans Day should be more than a day where veterans can get a free lunch from participating restaurants. It should be a day where they can have time to relax, reflect, and reconnect with their fellow service members. Many veterans would like to march in parades or celebrate the holiday, but cannot do so because of work.
Please make Veterans Day and mandatory paid federal holiday for all eligible veterans.
