We, the veterans of the US, find nothing more gratifying than watching others exercise their rights protected by those who served. The number one on the list of rights is the right to vote on local, state, and federal candidates and issues. Other than the heartfelt thanks we receive (and appreciate), the veterans would much appreciate it if Veteran's Day was also the day people turn up to vote in elections.
If possible, it can even be made a Monday observance so as to allow all the citizenry time off to do this most solemn of duties that those who served fought so hard to protect.
