Too often voters use emotional premises and misinformation to decide who to vote for. A test which proved a citizen is capable of understanding basic concepts of government and elementary logic would help reduce the number of under-qualified charismatic politicians from taking office while still allowing most of the population to vote.
Forcing the people to vote responsibly is a necessity of modern times. Our forefathers could not have imagined the exploitation of modern media in the manner in which it has occurred. While banning blatantly outrageous practices which modern politicians use would help, it is imperative that the citizenry remain responsible in order to maintain power.
