Make voting day a consecutive 3 day federal holiday and make voting mandatory for all US citizens.

Created by J.B. on April 13, 2015

Not enough people vote. Far too many people are unable to vote because they can't get time off from work and then there are others who simply shirk their civil duties. Just like jury duty is a requirement of all US citizens, so to should voting. By making the last 3 days of voting a US Federal holiday that requires all polling locations to be open for a consecutive 72 hours, it ensures everyone has a chance to vote. Making voting mandatory ensures that the people are being heard equally. Too many people believe that their voice doesn't count because they don't vote, but their voice would have an impact if everyone voted.
