Make Voting Day a Federal Holiday

Created by D.E. on February 27, 2013

According the U.S. Census Bureau's survey on voting and registration, out of the approximate 206,072,000 citizens eligible to vote, only 131,144,000 (64%) of people actually did. Of the people who did not vote, 17.5% were too busy, 13.4% were not interested, and 2.6% forgot. If voting day were a national/federal holiday, it would help solve some of these problems by freeing up potential voter's time and making voting more relevant to the general public.
