Mandatory voting is a reality in many countries. It provides a fair and balanced impetus to all branches of the government, most importantly Congress.
Decisions made by a government which truly represents all of its citizens, instead of just pandering to the extreme viewpoints, would be much more effective and valuable in the long term.
