I feel that many Americans do not exercise their right to vote due to the lack of convenience in the process.
I am an American that does not strictly identify with a particular party nor, typically, with a particular candidate; therefore I am only driven to undertake the hassle of 'going out and voting' when elections touch on matters that are near and dear to my heart. Given that there are over 300 million Americans, I have concluded that I certainly cannot be alone in this practice and way of thinking.
I believe if voting were made more convenient by the introduction of an online voting system the voter turnout would increase exponentially and we would truly have our finger on the pulse of the American people.
